History of Appselec
Founded in 1954 by William Apps under the original name ‘Apps Electrics’, the company has continued to build on the standards and quality established at the very beginning.
William Apps’ three sons; Terry, Peter and Malcolm, took over the company in 1980. They steadily built on the foundations laid by their father and transformed the company into one of Melbourne’s most prosperous and trusted family-owned electrical contractors. The company has employed thousands of Melbourne’s electrical workers over the years, and has contributed to some of Melbourne’s biggest projects, like Bourke Place (BHP headquarters, now AMP Tower), St Vincents Hospital, the National Gallery of Victoria and the prestigious The Melbournian, to name a few.
After 25 years at the helm, the three brothers ensured the future of the company with David Jonker and Michael Sharpe executing an internal management buyout in 2006.
In 2012 the company went through a re-branding and re-naming exercise to become ‘Appselec’, as it is known today.
